As a financial planner for over 10 years, I’ve enjoyed seeing how this career can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. I am passionate about helping clients make smart financial decisions which will improve their position and achieve their goals.
The financial planning world can appear complex and since leaving Uni in the 1990’s, I have been part of this world since day one as for the first half of my career I had been involved in the Advice and Superannuation Technical world and was responsible for the education of financial planners across Australia.
Continuing education for myself and improving financial literacy for my clients is important and I aim is to take this into every interaction I have. At present I am a:
- Certified Financial Planner (FAAA)
- Life Risk Specialist (FAAA) and
- Approved Aged Care Specialist (Aged Care Steps)
I cater for all types of personal advice which includes:
- Superannuation,
- Pre or Post Retirement,
- SMSF,
- Wealth Accumulation,
- Estate Planning
- Insurance Advice,
- Centrelink and
- Aged Care Advice.
I have structured my business as an ‘Independent’ Advisory practice which focuses on unconflicted advice ensuring that advice is given in 'your' best interests and not the interests of large financial planning Dealer Groups who have relationships with product manufacturers or the big banks.
Expertise
My fees
My fees are based on a 'Fee For Service' model and are structured around complexity, service and work required,
Fees are a combination of 'Upfront' and/or an 'Annual Service Agreement'.
I typically bundle 'Implementation' fees with the Upfront Advice ie Statement of Advice and with new clients, I would typically include a very discounted Annual Service Agreement for the first year which allows for access to me, greater peace of mind, education and confidence building.
For Ongoing Advisory Services, my fees are based on an Annual Service Agreement with the fee charged being structured around servicing requirements throughout the course of the year and complexity.
Where work was not anticipated, is outside the scope of my original advice and requires new advice, I do however, revert back to the ‘Fee For Service’ model and request a new fee.
As an "Independent" financial adviser, I also do not accept Commissions for any Insurance advice and I do not charge Asset Based Fees, ie my fees are not calculated as a percentage of funds under management.
I think this is the most ethical way to provide unconflicted and unbiased advice.
