With 14 years experience in the wealth management industry, I made the move to become a financial adviser. Having worked closely with a range of advice practitioners over this time, I've grown passionate about the life-changing impact good financial planning can have for anyone.
Financial planning is different for everyone. If I walked up to a random person on the street, and asked them "what does a financial adviser/planner do?", I would get a range of potential answers, including - stock broker, they sell insurance, they sell financial products, they tell you when you can retire, they invest money for people who already have a lot of money".
It's clear most people still don't have an understanding of what good financial advice can mean for them. It's not their fault. It's our fault - the advisers, industry participants and financial institutions haven't done enough to spread a clear message on what great financial planning is. Whether you've got millions, think you've already got a fantastic grasp on your investments/finances, or are just starting to plan for your financial future, there's likely a financial advice business that's a great fit and can make meaningful change.
