I have had a life insurance policy with AIA since December 2010 that was set up by Hudson. Aaron has been my adviser since he began working there. I am a farmer, and 2024 was the worst drought that I have experienced in my fifty-one years of farming. This, combined with the steeply increasing life insurance premiums as I age, meant that I had to decide to significantly reduce my sum insured. I discussed this with Aaron and formally reduced the sum insured before the due date for the policy to renew. As a result, I would save over $13,600 in premium paid. This was very important to me due to the massive cost the drought is having on our farm business this year. Since the policy started, I have had a direct debit set up and AIA deduct the payment from my bank account when it is due to renew. I made sure that there was only enough money in my bank account to pay the reduced premium on the due date. To my horror I found that on the due date AIA had ignored my reduction in the sum insured and overdrew my bank account by over $13,600. Despite me calling and then emailing AIA, asking them to refund me the money they had taken from me without authority, they would not. I contacted Aaron asking for his help with this. He put in a big effort to convince AIA that they needed to do the right thing and repay the money to me. After he sent them a very well written formal complaint, the money was in my bank account within hours. (This was 42 days after they had originally taken it from me). I appreciate very much what Aaron has done to help me with this and would highly recommend him as an adviser.
